Chad and I finally got married August 8, 2009 on the beach in Michigan City. Actually it was down the road a little at a place called Beverly Shores. It was so beautiful and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect setting. Things were looking a little scary earlier in the day, it was raining and we had no backup plan. But I had faith, by the time I was getting my hair done, it was done raining. We had everyone meet at the Michigan City Armory where my parents dock their boat. My mom's friend Nancy set up a small buffet of appetizers and Dave had the margarita machine going. It was a nice way to get things going and to give people something to do while pictures were being taken. Then we went to the beach and had no where to park. So we dropped people off while the drivers went to find parking spaces. We couldn't find the minister, she had called me saying she had to park far away and it took her a while to walk back, I felt so bad that no one saw her a drove her back. But we all made it! It work out that she was a little late because I forgot the marriage license and rings in the car and someone had to run back to get them. And the sun was also at the perfect spot in the sky when I finally walked down to the beach. It was a beautiful ceremony, there was a nice breeze with the waves lapping and I was thinking 'I can't believe it is finally happening and it turned out just how I pictured it.' We said our vows and I got a little choked up when I said mine. I didn't remember what I had picked out and when I said them they got to me a little. Something about Chad has already given me my two greatest gifts, his love and our child. Camden was only interested in the sand. That was fine because he didn't want to take a nap that day (of course) and was a little grouchy. After we took a few more pictures, we headed down the road to the Duneland Beach Inn for dinner. We had a wonderful meal, everyone loved what they got. It was a little hot because the air was not working, ( this was the hottest day Indiana had all year). Chad and I cut the cake and I warned him not to smash it in my face, he was nice and didn't. It was a very good cake if I do say so, I used the same bakery that make my baby shower cake. I fell in love with the frosting and I don't even like frosting. We all had a few drinks with dinner and called it a night. It was a small, intimate affair with just our immediate family and it was perfect. I remember every detail and wouldn't change a thing.
